My Birthday

We celebrated my birthday a day early.

Appointments at the Portland VA tomorrow will kind of kill the day, so Julie, Lou, and David (and the park really) went all in to try and make something yummy for the day.

An attempt at keto cheese cake and keto vanilla ice cream. The cheese cake was terrible, as agreed by all present. The ice cream was not well received either, though it is passable; definitely needs more sweetening. Might give this another try with a different or adjusted recipe.

I received as gifts a “unisex” pair of oven mitts — so now we have a matching set for both the left and right hands, a fancy bacon cooking pan that should produce even better bacon (if that is possible), and an Invicta Submariner Automatic watch. All very nice and greatly appreciated.

A pic of reading the card (which made me cry) and the opening of the watch.

Edit: the folks in the chemo suite awarded me the Hope Hero medal as a birthday gift. I really love the care and respect the faculty in the suite show their patients.
