Julie and I visited the Portland VA yesterday to get my staples removed.

The doctor said I was healing just fine. I didn’t jump too much as she pulled each of the 34 staples from my incision and replaced them with suture strips. I traded metal for cloth.

Below is a picture (appropriately hidden for those that do not want to see) all sutured up.

The Well Sutured Liver

Nothing in Portland until a surgery follow-up and an oncology appointment to determine if I will undergo further chemo treatments on January 30th and 31st, 2019.

Oh, and I have been scheduled for a colonoscopy on February 4th, 2019. My first since the cancer was originally found a year and a half ago. I will say Julie’s and my anxiety about this exam is quite high.
